Lactose intolerance test

The lactose breath test is used to detect lactose intolerance.

The cause of lactose absorption is the enzyme lactase, which is responsible for breaking down lactose into glucose and galactose.

The consumption of dairy products such as milk, cheese, etc. leads to a lack of lactase enzyme which leads to gastrointestinal problems.

Our breath test is painless and works by measuring H2 in the exhaled air.

H2 is produced when lactose is broken down in the large intestine and reaches the lungs via the blood. A positive H2 detection in the exhaled air indicates a positive lactose intolerance.
