Borrelia blood test

Ticks are spreading more and more throughout Europe. Many of them carry dangerous pathogens: Borrelia. They enter the wound through a tick bite and can lead to a treacherous Lyme disease infection.

A Lyme disease infection is easy to treat if it is discovered early. However, if a Lyme disease infection is not detected and treated in time, it can suddenly trigger a variety of unclear symptoms in the joints, muscles, nerves, heart and skin, even years after the infection.

Even the “erythema migrans”, often referred to as the first symptom, which occurs 5-10 days after the bite, is not a reliable sign of infection.

In contrast to early summer meningoencephalitis, or TBE for short, which is also transmitted by tick bites, there is currently no vaccination against Lyme disease.

If a Borrelia infection is suspected, laboratory tests are necessary to clarify the situation. In the event of an infection, the immune system produces antibodies that are divided into IgM and IgG antibodies. These can be determined using the test.

A small blood sample is required for the brothel test. It is easy to use. Everything you need for the test is included in the package. To carry out the test safely and reliably, follow the instructions.

A small lancet is used to prick the fingertip. 5 drops of blood are sufficient for this test. Send your blood sample to our partner laboratory as described. You will receive the results with an evaluation of your profile after just 3 to 4 days.

The results serve as the basis for individual therapy, which should only be carried out after consultation with a doctor or therapist.

• Disinfect the finger and let it dry.
• Hold the lancet on your side finger and press the mechanism.
• Wipe away the first drop of blood with the dry swab.
• Collect the next drops of blood on the Protein Saver Card.
• After 3 hours, close the Protein Saver Card and place it in the ziplock bag.
• Attach the barcode and send the sample immediately.
• The result will be sent by post within 3-4 days.
